An inspiring book that teaches a valuable lesson for everyone - not just business people

This book differs from many others on the Three Principles (called Insight Principles by the authors) in that it draws many of its stories from the business world. The book is very readable and it is easy to read quite quickly. I would urge you to take the authors' advice and pause as you read and reflect on how what you are reading applies in your life. I found that did indeed lead to insights of my own. The Three Principles are simple to understand but really seeing them for yourself is why you want to reflect and make the understanding your own.

If you know nothing about the Three Principles this book is suitable for you as it explains them very clearly. If you already know about the Principles then this book gives some great material upon which to reflect. In my case, already knowing the Principles, I saw something deeper and it was a big Ah ha moment. I will be rereading the book again.

Elegantly simple, balanced, clear and practical...

So far, this is the clearest and simplest book about the Three Principles (called here Insight Principles) that I've read. It's ostensibly aimed at the corporate/business world and the corporate/business reader, and it certainly suits that reader base, but it's a much broader book than that. Someone who 'gets' it in their business life may be surprised to find that what is taught here applies to their home and relational lives as well. The authors have done a good job taking material that could initially seem fuzzy or general and showing how it can be used in what 'practical' people like to call 'the real world.' The writing is clear, simple, understandable, and illustrated with real world anecdotes drawn from their personal and professional experience, as well as from the experiences of their clients. One could read this book with a clear, relaxed mind and get a lot out of it on its own, and I think the impact would be trebled in situations where one reads the book in conjunction with a training or coaching program based on the Principles.

Our mind creates our realities

I have been exposed to the "three principles" for more than two decades. Years ago I sponsored training my company's employees with remarkable results. Since then I have sponsored training for my City's management team and more than a dozen non-profits with similar results. I watched as a friend of mine provided this training for a local State prison that dramatically resulted in changing lives of both the inmates and the staff. Prisoners serving time for drug offenses went home to new, drug free lives and never returned. When competent trainers expose people to these ideas, lives change, both inside organizations and in employees homes. But other than providing funds for group training, explaining the Principles has been challenging. Regrettably these powerful ideas are easiest to grasp in a live group format. This book changes that. The authors have structured a book that leads the reader through the explanation of how our minds work in relaxed, easy to understand language that a reader can digest at a comfortable pace. I am grateful, and have already begun gifting the book to family and friends.

Scary Bedtime Stories for Computer Criminals

Orin Kerr doesn't write like a lawyer, he writes like a well versed writer. The book is a text manual for all things related to Computer Crime at the time of its writing. Since technology and law do not keep pace with each other, the book provides an outstanding reference for which case files to watch and which ones are not a concern. I used up two highlighter pens on this manual and I'm not a law student.

I've followed Orin Kerr's writings for several years now and really enjoy pulling out this book to see how digital crime law is supposed to work. It doesn't. There is a nice touch of humor layered thinly throughout the book. Dr. Kerr has a sharp wit and a sharper tongue. There is a great segment on the history behind each law and how far the courts have moved away from the original intent of those laws.

The folks at the NSA should have read this book a long time ago.

If you are interested in computer crimes, this is an excellent book. Orin Kerr is not only extremely knowledgeable on this subject, he has a fluid writing style that makes reading the book extremely easy.

The questions here are numerous and great. Some parts such as embryology and histo-pathology are a little less relevant, as is the newborn care stuff. Obviously, be pertinent in your studying and focus on the rest of the Gyn Onc, General Gynaecology and Obstetrical care stuff, which is the crux of the shelf.

I am a 3rd yr med student, the folks this book is supposed to be written for. I bought it after i studied incredibly hard for the ob/gyn shelf and failed it. I thought this would be a good set of questions to go through after draining my question bank and all other resources available to me, but it hasn't quite lived up to expectations. They often mix up pathology from two different disease processes, have incorrect answers, and the answer choices in the questions will often have multiple correct answers that honestly can not be separated out by the information given, and often sadly fail to explain themselves in the explanation section. I also had several questions where what i had marked was right as far as the explanation went, however, the correct answer was something else. There's also several statistical questions that 1. you don't get taught about on the wards, and 2. are not on the shelf.....Basically it hasn't been the greatest book to instill any sense of confidence when attempting to retake a shelf exam that has a reputation as being not very friendly. I think you're better off spending some quality time with Case Files.

These include issues concerning the nature and order of organizational processes, the stimulus factors that engage the mechanisms of organization, the developmental stage at which the mechanisms of organization are available, the role of past experience and learning in organization, the neural mechanisms underlying perceptual organization, and the relations between perceptual organization and other cognitive processes, in particular, object recognition and visual attention. Divided into four parts, the book is designed not only to detail the current state of the art in the field but also to promote an interdisciplinary approach to the study of perceptual organization. Part I presents an overview of the problem of perceptual organization, different frameworks for understanding perceptual organization, and a state-of-the-art summary of the domain. Part II details which organizational processes are hardwired in the perceptual system, which are acquired through experience, and how object perception relates to other aspects of cognition. Part III describes various attempts to understand the neural mechanisms underlying perceptual organization using two different approaches--neurophysiological and neuropsychological. Part IV offers a computational approach to the problem. This book is intended for cognitive psychologists, neuroscientists, computational vision scientists, and developmental psychologists.
