The content of this book is good, but come on, it is smaller than a typical novel - and not even printed/covered as nicely as a hard back novel - and it sells for $110.00 - buy the paperback it is actually printed and covered in higher quality at 1/3 the price.

Although outdated with regards to the equipment available, this book has good, easy-to-understand explanations of culturing cells and the principles and maintenance involved. Would definitely recommend it as a great reference for beginners.

You Will Fall In Love With Justin.....

As soon as I got to then end of the first book I was honestly shocked at how quickly Justin turned down the girl at his work, but I actually felt sorry for him considering he realised that he has feelings for Sloane, but when he got there to try and win her back it didn't exactly go very well considering she wants nothing to do with him.
However Justin isn't going to give up on Sloane that easily, and makes it his mission to win her back no matter what it takes. He knows deep down that he has hurt her considering when she turned round and set him free he sort of jumped at the chance instead of insisting that he wants Sloane only. He knows it in his heart that the only way he can win her back is if he steps up his game but also makes sure that he treats her right and takes her seriously.

Sloane is missing Justin like no tomorrow but at the end of the day she was the one that set him free and then turned him down when he came running back to get her back, she's not sure what went on between the girl from Justin's work and himself but she knows she deserves someone who will look after her and be there for her. However her heart won't let go of Justin, no matter how much she tries and she is slowly starting to realise that she needs to get him out of her system yet the only way that she could do it, is by going out with him but only allowing him access to her body and not her heart as that way he can't exactly hurt her again.
After Justin keeps insisting that he take her out to dinner to at least try and make it up to her she reluctantly agrees, but later after they've had dinner and are back at his place he decides to tell her whilst in the middle of making love to each other that he loves her. Sloane can hardly believe it and ignores him as she doesn't think that he is capable of loving any girl, but to Justin he means every word of it and he wants to shower her with all his love and affection but she keeps pushing him away.

I honestly hope that after a weekend away that Sloane will finally lower down her walls and let him in as I think it's so sweet that he's trying his hardest to win her back, but at the same time I understand where she is coming from as if any other girl was in her position they would be hesitant as into giving into what she wants.
Trust me when I say that you will be wanting to see how it all works out between the two of them as I felt exactly the same way when I got to the end of the first book. The writing and the characters have been so well thought out and they are honestly amazing, each time I read any work of C.C. Cartwright's I fall in love with it all over again and I hope that you all feel the same. So please take a chance with this series

Perfect two part read!

Finished reading Just Love Me part 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it! The Book picks up right where book 1 stops. Sloane is heartbroken and Justin realizes what a mistake he's made. He now has to find a way to prove to Sloane that he does love her and she is the only one for him. The way he has always lived his life, so many women so little time is over for him now. He just wants Sloane. When Justin first sees her again it's at his family's gathering and he starts to get the full gravity of what he has done. Sloane is thin and withdrawn and her eyes show just how shattered she is. Justin starts to try and get her to forgive him but she wants no part of it. He finally gets her to go to dinner with him and sees how shut off she is from him. He continues to see her and they start having sex. It has always been off the charts for both of them and he gets little glimpses of the girl he loves. He wants the old Sloane back. However, she refuses to open her heart to him again in fear of getting hurt. Justin wanted to keep their relationship secret so he wouldn't have to face the anger of going against his family's wishes and dating Sloane. But, he wants to prove to her how important she is to him, so he tells his sister and than his parents. They are all shocked at first even Sloane, but finally his family accepts them as a couple. The ending completes the story so well. I don't want to spoil the ending for you but it's perfect!

I honestly have to say that I have fall in love with an amazing and new author for me after reading only 4 books of C.C. Cartwright's. What can I say? Her books are a little bit habit-forming, jiji!!

With book 1 and now this book you will really fall in love with all the characters. Sloane is very heartbroken and Justin is a jackass, pardon my french! Well time has passed and Justin realize that he wants Sloan back. They see each other for the first time after their brake up in his parents home for dinner. Justin's tries to get her back but she does not believe him or thrust him. Can Justin win her back? Can Sloane get her happy ending? Can his family accepts them as a couple? I don't want to spoil the ending for you but it's superb! So buy it now and get reading, you won't regret it!!! I cant get enough and can't wait to read more about maybe Justin's sister Kylie and Scott romance.

One of Asia's most popular film stars, Chan has helped reinvent the Hong Kong action genre by blending hyperkinetic stunts with a self-deprecating humor and a freewheeling flamboyance reminiscent of Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. His autobiography, unfortunately, contains few of these elements. In minute detail, he chronicles his punishing childhood in the Chinese Opera Research Institute and his rise to superstardom. From age seven to 17, under the severe discipline?some might even call it child abuse?of his Opera Master, Chan was trained for theater and film work. After the death of Bruce Lee (Chan was a stuntman in Lee's Fists of Fury and Enter the Dragon), his studio, Golden Harvest, attempted to turn him into a Lee clone. But Chan's film persona finally gelled when he began to emulate his silent-movie heroes and to punctuate his films with what he calls "the superstunt"?high-risk feats of derring-do that he performs himself. Chan takes himself to task for neglecting his family (indeed, his wife and 14-year-old son are only briefly mentioned), and offers a candid look at the gangs, called Triads, that retain a powerful grip on the Hong Kong film industry. The star of films like Drunken Master (1978), Police Story (1985), and Supercop (1992) recounts his life in short, machine-gun-burst chapters. Beginning with his formative days as the acolyte of an opera master at the Chinese Drama Academy, Chan dives into his Hong Kong stuntman apprenticeship and career as a worldwide kung fu, shoot-'em-up idol. The staccato narrative ends with his U.S. breakthrough, Rumble in the Bronx (1994). Chan afterward divulges his "top ten stunts," "top ten fights," and his accrued bodily "aches and pains" in separate appendixes. A section called "Jackie's Films" affords a whirlwind survey of Chan's oeuvre. Written with noted Asian American journalist Yang, this volume makes for thorough, two-fisted coverage and should be read in tandem with Jeff Rovin's The Essential Jackie Chan Sourcebook (Pocket, 1997). Satisfied Customer

I read the disclaimer: Writing, markings, etc... may be found on the book..

I knew I was buying a used book. I took the chance, since "I Am Jackie Chan" has been a hard book to find. Also, I've read the book already, so to me, it was worth the risk.

I received it today, and it has a few bends on the soft cover, but other than that, the book is perfect.
I noticed that the book is actually sold for six US dollars, More than double what I paid for it, but alas, I have my book and I can sleep at night.

I'm one happy customer. Maybe I got lucky, who knows. No book is the same when it's used. So this review may not be the same for other customers.

As for the book itself, it's an awesome book. You might want to rent it out at your public library if it's not available on Amazon.

I can't say much about the book without talking too much. All I can say is that it's an amazing story. Jackie Chan tells how he got his name, Jackie Chan! I always thought it was a super awesome story, and I enjoy telling others about it. When I tell them, they think it's funny and I can't help but smile. I read "I Am Jackie Chan" 14 years ago, for the first time, and I still remember a lot of the book. Why did I buy it, if I still remember the book? I'm starting a library of my own, and this book was a "Must Have" for me. That's how awesome this book is. :D

Review for I Am Jackie Chan

When selecting this book, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was certainly surprised when I began reading. Based off of his fun-loving charisma today, you would have never expected that he was raised in an extremely strict setting. Of course that never stopped him from acting out and putting people in their place, but punishment was cruel during his time and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him and his Chinese Drama Academy family. Reading about his struggle on finding a promising job after his life at the Academy really helped me put into perspective as to how hard he's worked to become what he is today. I was a bit surprised when he shared his struggle with acting, since that's what he's known for, but I suppose with each film, an actor's skills only get better. Overall, this autobiography is very intriguing as it is consumed of many things I've never read of before.

After reading this book on Jackie Chan I am truly amazed that he survived his early childhood, but it has made me appreciate all the efforts he uses to make sure his movies are funny and action packed. I know that I could not have gone thru what he did in the Chinese Opera Schools. This book had a lot of pictures of him as a young boy and of his parents. Well worth reading to know about one of your favorite actors.

About the Author
Francis X. McConville holds a BS degree in Chemistry and MS degrees in both Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has worked in the chemical industry and related fields for more than 26 years, including 14 years as a process engineer at Sepracor, Inc. He has helped scale up chemical and biochemical processes in Asia, Europe and North America. He now operates a consulting business and lives with his family in Worcester, Massachusetts. He also dabbles in watercolor and plays bluegrass and jazz mandolin in several central New England acoustic bands.

Teaching everything for successful pilot plant operation

"Pilot plant real book" to be exact; "Pilot Plant Bible" not an exaggeration.

I felt lucky to get a copy of this book BEFORE setting my foot into pilot plant. I found it extremely useful in transitioning into pilot plant operations from R&D laboratory environment. For these two, many things are same in principles but different in real operations. The book teaches everything: reactors, fittings, material compatibility, pumping, heat exchange, distillation, recrystallization, etc. In doing so it truely helps practitioners to sacel up reactions successfully and safely. I used it as a textbook initially to learn pilot plant operations and it is for sure a wonderful reference book as well.

Practical/Technical Review

This book is a must have for any working chemical engineer, chemist or chemical technician in the pharmaceutical industry. The author has compiled a tremendous amount of information that is easily accessible and applicable to practical chemical development. I reach for it now when I need a reference for chemical property data, equipment information and other working knowledge. I work in a scale-up lab and find this text invaluable.
